According to color psychology, the color blue can be extremely calming. Adding blue makeup looks to your makeup mix can not only transform your look, but also your mood. (And the moods of the people around you.)

Top 5 Blue Makeup Looks

These top five makeup looks are all simple to recreate. Each look can be applied in under 1-minute. Also, they are all classy and elegant enough to be worn daily.

This solid dark blue cream shadow style is our absolute favorite blue makeup look. Plus, it’s super simple to recreate.  This could be your next go-to daily look or you can add it to your makeup routine on days when you need an extra boost.

How to recreate

1. Take a dark blue cream eyeshadow and fill entire lid, just above your crease line. (We recommend the Julep Crème Eyeshadow Stick Duo in Champagne Shimmer and Midnight for around $29.)

2. Line the bottom lash line starting at the outer corner to the middle of your eye.

3. Apply a highlighter shade to the inner corner or the bottom lash line. (We recommend using the champagne color from the cream stick duo used in step one.)

There is something absolutely stunning about pairing different shades of the same color. This light blue/dark blue eyeshadow combo also includes a pop of copper. However, we like it with, and without, the copper shade.

How to recreate

1. Apply light blue eyeshadow on entire lid just above the crease line. (We recommend Oulac Eyeshadow in No Burden for around $9.)

2. Take dark blue and create and fill a v-shape on your outer eye. (We recommend the same cream stick from look #1 – Julep in Midnight.)

3. Line entire bottom lid with dark blue eyeshadow.

4. (Optional) Apply a copper shade in your crease line and over the blue you just applied on the bottom lash line.)

This gorgeous navy eyeliner look is elegant and subtle.  It can be paired with your favorite neutral eyeshadow or worn alone. It’s a great way to incorporate this calming shade into any look.

How to recreate

1. (Optional.) Apply your favorite neutral shade to entire lid, just above the crease line. (We like the champagne shade in the cream stick duo used on look #1.)

2. (Optional.) Apply that same neutral eyeshadow across 3/4 of your bottom lash line starting at outer corner and going inward.

3. Take your navy liquid eyeliner and line top lid and the inner corner of the bottom lid with wingtips on each. Lancôme’s felt tip blue liner is perfect for this in both color and precision.

This blue mascara makes a big impact on it’s own, so you can skip adding eyeshadow altogether. Or, you can add your favorite light neutral color to compliment it beautifully. Either way, it’s outrageously simple! (Great for 4th of July!)

How to recreate

1. Take your blue mascara and full coat your top lash line. (We recommend DMN Waterproof Mascara in shade 01 for around $10.)

2. Repeat the same step on the bottom lash line.

A little bit of this blue holographic glitter gloss can completely transform your lipstick game. You can wear it alone or paired with your favorite lip color. We love it over pink but it could be easily paired with red to create a fun and elegant look for 4th of July.

How to recreate

1. (Optional) Apply your favorite lip color to entire upper and lower lip.

2. Add the blue holographic glitter gloss over lip color. (We love this $8 gloss on amazon.)

What Are Blue Makeup Looks?

Blue makeup looks can be anything to a subtle touch of blue around your eyes to a full face blue makeup look where you add blue eyeshadow, blue eyeliner, blue mascara, and blue lip gloss. Blue makeup looks can be subtle or both, or a little of both.

Conclusion

The top five simple blue makeup looks are the single one-color dark blue shadow, the light blue and dark blue combo eyeshadow look, the navy eyeliner, blue mascara and the blue holographic glitter gloss look. Each look can be worn alone and recreated in one minute or less.
